Fishermans Walk in Southbourne

Fishermans Walk is a great dog walking spot. It’s a tarmac path running through a nice wooded area.

Starting at Southbourne shops going through to the zig-zag at Fisherman’s Walk Beach on Southbourne Beach. This will take you down to the beach below.

Fisherman’s walk was (not surprisingly) given this name because of the fishermen who used to walk this route to and from their fishing areas on Southbourne Beach.

Fishermans Walk Beach

10 minutes from Bournemouth, if you descend to the beach below you can walk along the beach to Boscombe Beach and Pier which should take about 20 minutes. It’ll be about 35 minutes to Bournemouth Pier and Beach.

Dogs are allowed on Fisherman’s Walk Beach and Southbourne Beach all year round.

If walking down the zig-zag might pose some difficulty for you. There is a cliff lift that is available to take you down. This is usually functioning between the months of Easter and October.

At the top of Fisherman’s Walk cliff is a cafe a children’s playground and crazy golf.

Fisherman’s Walk Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and has been graded as ‘excellent’ both for the quality of seawater and the effect the beach has on its environment.

Fisherman’s Walk is a great little walk on your way to a day at the beach or a dog walk.
